Back on the Blogosphere?

Maybe, maybe not. I'm currently working nights, which leaves me with some extremely anti-social awake times. You'd think that would inspire me to new heights of intellectual brilliance and blog-posting but it has in fact done the opposite and I seem to spend most of my free time wishing I was inspired and doing nothing to inspire myself very much. This should change. A lot has happened since April. I have gone places and done stuff. I have learned things and taught others, I have had some ups and some downs. I keep coming back to this blog and thinking I should update more often. And in the past I have said I would. I've said that so often that I'm pretty sure my handful of readers don't believe me! :) And today I am not going to say anything incredibly ambitious like 'I'll post once a week from here on out', because it's not fair or true. One day at a time, one post at a time, time will pass. I tried giving myself what I hoped was a multi-part project with the Partisans article, but after I posted the first post I felt I may have said too much of what I was thinking, and maybe the world at large didn't need part two. I'm considering posting some pics from some of my travels on here, because with a visual cue I think it might be easier to write. I've considered writing seven posts on one day and robo-posting them. I still might try that some time. We'll see...

It's been a while....

since I updated this blog. A lot of water has passed under the proverbial bridge. Things have happened. Life has certainly not gone quite the way I thought it would in January.
Various circumstances have prevented the more frequent update of this blog, but in future, I will try to post more often. Any of my friends who are reading this blog, feel free to shout "Yeah, right!" at this point. But I'm serious.
One of the things that has prevented the more frequent update of this blog is my temporarily forgetting which email I associated with it. I've figured that out now, amazingly enough, and I hope to not forget it again any time soon.
Anyway, by post more often, I'm thinking once or twice a month. I don't want to get too ambitious too fast- that way lies disappointment, and plenty of it.
But, I suppose now is as good a time as any for a summary of what's taken place in my life since January.
-I am older now, and hopefully a little wiser.
-I'm in the Navy- hence the comedy of errors. At some point I'll change my colour scheme to reflect my proper branch of service.
-I am inspired by Seraphic of seraphicsinglescummings.blogspot.com, and I am a dedicated lurker of hers.
-I failed Nanowrimo this year.
-I have seen 'scenic' Great Lakes.
-I have taken lots of CLEP tests.

Anyway, this post doesn't have much of a point to it. Sort of just hoping to get back into the swing of blogging and soon. But what with S&D's wedding coming up soon, and much travel between now and then, I'm not sure if I'll have much of a chance. For the sake of easy reading, the next post will be my Christmas day post, even though I'm writing them both today, Christmas 2009.

Oh, the Irony...

Well, this blog is officially resurrected. It went on hiatus due to my deciding not to join the AF after all. Things happen, y'know? So I went across the hall to the Navy recruiting office and on Dec. 4th, I swore into the USN. I will document all the details when I have more free time/free internet access. But for now, all I'll say is this- WHY?!! Why are they getting rid of the all-black enlisted winter uniform?? It was my favouritest of all the Navy uniforms... :( It looks sharp, it is stylin', and the new khaki/black combo looks like the Marines on a bad day, or the RIC. Neither of which works... >ish not happy!< So yeah. As I said, more intelligent thoughts later. Just had to get that pet-peeve out. I no sooner join the service than they get rid of their coolest uniform. >sob<
